About us
Founded in Barcelona in 1998, MareViva Cruises was created with a simple idea: to build a cruise line that felt truly European.
Our story
MareViva began with one small cruise-ferry operating short Mediterranean routes between Barcelona, Palma, Marseille and Genoa, founded by Spanish hospitality investors, former ferry executives and Catalan tourism entrepreneurs.
By the early 2000s the company had grown into a recognised Spanish cruise brand, known for warm service, strong regional cuisine and destination-focused itineraries. Through the 2010s MareViva repositioned as a premium mid-market line, investing heavily in food, design, cultural excursions and onboard entertainment.
Today MareViva operates six medium-to-large ships from Barcelona and selected seasonal ports, with multilingual service, fresh regional dining and port-heavy itineraries.
